Cam not generating signal

Cam not generating signal I cannot get my LS1 to run because the cam is not generating a signal to the tested and working rear-mounted sensor. I got a Comp cam 228R (it came this way) that I pulled and inspected. Seems fine. I'm running a Daytona Sensor ignition system, which has been sent to Daytona, tested and confirmed to be working... the whole system sensors, coils, harness and all works. I have fuel and spark, but no timing signal from at the cam sensor. The folks at Comp cams are encouraging me to switch to an LS2 setup but it's frustrating not knowing why the LS1 cam does not work. Anyone have this kind of issue or have words of advice?

First, the obvious. Does the cam have the dual sensor rings behind the last lobe? If not, it's a Gen IV cam. The cam sensor will never work then.
OR, are you sure the cam sensor is good?

Yes it has cam has dual sensors rings (two half moons) behind the last lobe and yes the cam sensor was tested and it worked.
Seen a few LS vehicles come in with the cam sensor wiring bare and wires touching. Inspect your harness closely, pull back any tape that may be on the cam sensor pigtail and inspect closely.
Also check your sensor grounds on the back of the drivers head and make sure they are tight and clean, that's a common area to cause whacky **** to happen.
