I'm new to the site and hoping i can get some helpfull advice for a lq9 build i'm soon to start. This engine will be in my daily so i want something reliable and POWERFUL!! I wont be boosting it at first but it may lead to that in future so i want to build it to be able to handle boost. Thanks in advance!

 

Do you have a HP target? I would make sure you keep it flexible enough to be a good street cruiser. Good start with the LQ9! More compression, though you might have to keep an eye on that if boost stays in the plan.

 

What kind of vehicle, trans, gearing, etc?

 

I'd love to see it push around 450 to the crank before i put any forced induction on it. I'ts going in a 2004 tahoe, I'm currently running the stock 460le and in the rear i have 373 yukon gears with a limited slip locker.

 

Should be easy. I did cam headers and tune and putting down 380hp to rear wheels.
