Need Help After Head/Cam Install
Hey guys I am trying to help out my little brother. We just finished installed a new cam and ported heads and got everything buttoned up and went to start and it just cranked and cranked. While this was going on there was also no connection to the ODB port when he tried to hook up HP Tuners to scan check for any codes. After a little research we tried the hold the gas pedal to the floor while starting method to clear any fuel that may be flooded and the car cranked right up. So he drove around for about an hour last night making adjustments to the tune and got the car running decent enough to drive to work. So this morning he makes it about 20 miles and the car shuts off on him again, loses connection to the ODB port and just cranks with no start. We are both thinking it is a wiring/ground issue but both grounds on the back of the driver side head and tight and we did not mess with any other grounds.. I am just looking for advice on where to start and hoping the symptoms could help narrow down the search. The car ran perfect for roughly 30-40 miles after we initially got it running.

Are there two or three grounds on the head? At any rate, I'd go back over everything, all sensors etc and make sure everything is plugged in. Even ones like crank or cam that are in but maybe not clicked could give you an intermittent issue.

As 01ssRed said,
Double check your Cam and Crank sensors are plugged in nice and tight. Grounds, clean em up and reinstall. Get the one on the back of the heads of course.
Check the SES codes with your HP Tuners!
Good Luck, hope it's just a sensor or ground.
