My car is a 2000 T/A, auto, 2.73 rear end, GM55 converter, Pacesetter long tubes, tsp y pipe, SLP LM2 with a flo-pro twister muffler.
Running a pcmforless tune right now. tr6 plugs at .040. All I did was the cam/pac1218 springs. original 88k mile lifters, original water pump, original oil pump, original timing chain
Idle is pretty smooth. If you are right up on the car its hard to hear the cam, further away you can hear the lope of it more. Idle is probably around 750rpm. Every day it seems to drive better and better as it learns the tune. Once off idle its pretty much like a stock car, I havent beat on it too much but it makes more power forsure. I think this cam makes more hp/tq then a stock cam EVERYWHERE, so while its not a max hp cam, you dont lose any torque. So all of the things on my car are about the worst setup for a cam, the tight converter, the 2.73 gears but it drives great. Hopefully Ill hit the track soon and get a 12 second slip. Previous best with bolt ons was 13.2 @ 105 with a 2.0X 60'. I also have a line on a 3.73 rear end that may find its way into the car, the 2.73 rear end just kills street fun.
Anyways anyone considering a friendly street cam that gives you power, works well with stock everything, and has some good idle sound this one isnt bad! Pretty sure with a ls6 intake/bolt ons there are 6 speed cars around 390RWHP.
Wanted to get to the track tonight to get a time but rain is coming in. I plan to run the car with only the cam upgrade done to see the gain from it. Next friday is the last test n tune I think

I dont regret it at all, dont wish I went bigger like people say. A smooth daily driver is a good one.

Tell you what though, there's nothing like cruising at 80 with 2.73s. They just suck in the city.

Also, another good point is add an LS6 intake. Nice low dollar HP increase. I never used an WS6 cam, but I am sure they know something about our cars for street use.
I had a yank ss3600 but it was for a lt1/c5. The trailblazer converter may be 2500rpm and cost $130 new or so.
I actually just picked up a 3.73 rear end today. Just got home with it. Couldn't pass it up for $200. It's either 3.42 or 3.73, two wheel spin gets almost 4 yoke. Over 3.5 so probably 3.73.
I also have a dyno tune wet nitrous kit, may do a 75 shot. The ls6 intake is also on my list.
getting on the highway today i got on 2nd a bit more then usual and she pulls strong. If you're doing 12.15s bolt on only this cam won't hurt you. It gains power everywhere. When you get into the bolt only + cam decision and bring dyno numbers into it, you're really just sacrificing driveability for maybe 10 to 20 hp. I would put this cam in anything bolt on oy and feel good about it. Duration may be lower then some but .600 lift is more then you think. For $515 (cam and pac1218) plus gaskets it's an easy gain.
btw, cam shows up in a Texas speed box, and you know they are good.

I do want to run with 2.73s to see gain from the cam.
