Talking Need Help Planning Winter Mods

I have a 2000 Trans Am and will be adding long tube headers and an LS6 intake manifold this winter. Along with those mods, I plan to tackle a few other items while the vehicle is apart. Car has 150,000 miles on it but it runs really well. I daily drive it during the summer.
I am planning to:
- Replace the knock sensors and harness (Delco KS and Dorman harness)
- Relocate the oil pressure sensor (DIY kit from corvette forum)
- Change the motor and transmission mounts (poly)
- Replace the manifold gaskets (both with Delco) and exhaust manifold bolts (from the GM dealership)

I have a few questions I'd like to get help with.
1. Is the oil pressure relocation process the same for the LS1 vette and firebird? That is, can I follow the corvette forum write up to buy parts?
2. Should I extend the MAP sensor tube?
3. IMPORTANT! Is there anything else I should do while I'm changing the headers and intake manifold?

Thanks in advance for your help!

At 150k you might want to look into some maintenance items as well. Plugs, wires, fluids etc. Other than that, your list looks good. Motor mounts are definitely better to do while you are doing the headers, as you will have the car way up in the air already.

You dont have to relocate the oil pressure sensor or the MAP when swapping to an LS6 intake.

Thanks guys.
I've only had the car a couple of years but I can see the wires are newer (not factory originals) and I will replace them (GM red wires) if/when I inadvertently wreck them taking them off. I'll certainly replace the plugs if they haven't been done or if they are low end plugs. I'm going to get the injectors cleaned while I'm in there. I do have new Amsoil fluids for the trans, diff and engine. I will also do a full rad flush as I developed a small leak just prior to putting her away for the winter. So I'll fix whats broken and get it cleaned up too.

ddnspider: I was not doing OPS relocation or MAP extension because of the LS6 intake...just thinking that the OPS will die after I do the swap (Murhpy's Law) so I thought it would do it while the intake was off. Thoughts?

Any advice about the vette versus f-body OPS relocation kit?

Id get ARP header bolts for peace of mind.

Gonna need O2 sensors and extensions, or Vette o2, or repin the ECU to use the rear harness.

She an auto or a 6 speed?

I know you said ls6 manifold but that means youll need to do some things to the PVC system so Id make sure all of that is good.

I'm too cheap to buy ARP bolts...maybe when I do the heads but not for the headers. I should have mentioned, I'm prepared to deal with the O2 sensors. Extensions if the current sensors are in good shape (IE not original) and new vette sensors if they are original. Thanks for the reminder though!
For the intake manifold, I'll knock the fins off and the redo the piping. I've done this on a vettte a few years back and did the same thing to install the LS6 intake manifold.

She's a 6 speed

If you want piece of mind replace the opsu when the intake is off but I wouldn't relocate it. It's not a high failure prone part.
