Default 5.3 Valley Cover Leak

Hey guys new here, I just put a Gen 3 5.3 in a 86 C10. The engine got all new gaskets and new piston rings. When the engine is running it is pushing oil out of the back of the Valley Cover. I can see the oil running out. There is no blow by that I can see or feel on either side valve cover or the dipstick. Any help would be appreciated?

The oil pressure sensor is back there too. You might want to check and see if that's actually doing the leaking.

Definately not the oil pressure sensor. I can put a light back there while it’s running and watch it come out of the passenger side rear valley cover.

Took intake off last night. Pulled valley pan and gasket looked brand new. No buldges or rips. What concerned me the most was it wasn’t a small leak but it was pouring out at a good rate. I figured the only oil up there should be the oil that’s thrown up by the cam.

Try another gasket, I like the ac delco gasket, we had leaks with Fel Pro.

Cam sensor is a real common issue with oil leaks at the back upper, but they normally cause oil to come out the bell housing.

A gen3 engine doesn’t have pressured oil to the valley, only a little slung up from the camshaft, and some mist. It’s gotta be cam sensor or oil pressure sensor, in my opinion.

I'm not saying you don't know what your looking at, but the way it's leaking it has to be the oil pressure sensor or cam. maybe it's running along the edge of the gasket seat and looking like its the valley leaking. i'm just giving you something to think about. hope you get it soon . good luck

Thanks guys for all the reply’s. This was a mixture of all kinds of problems lol. The oil pressure sender was cracked and shooting oil on top of the valley pan cover. To add to the whole problem the steamline tube was leaking coolant on the top of the valley pan as well. This all mixed together and ran off the passenger side of the valley pan away from the oil pressure sender, that’s why I thought it was coming from the valley cover. Shew that was a lot. It’s allfixed now though. Thanks.
