Default 5.3 head stud.

got my head stud kit today. When I went to install it the only studs that are the proper length are the short studs all the long bottom out and I still need to drive them in 3 inches more. Where can I get the kit that only comes with the shot main studs and not the longer ones.

So apon inspection I have an odd ball block its kind of a cross 3 to 4. It was my under standing that if the cam position sensor was in the rear of the block and not the front cover than it was a 3rd gen. I also have valley knock sensor’s and the motor does not have DOD
All these finding led me to believe it was a 3rd gen. So why does it take 4th gen studs.

You definately have a gen3 block. I can tell by the opening into the valley, above the camshaft. What part number bolts did you purchase?

They’re definitely out there, I’ve run across a few myself so I always look at the bolt holes before I order.
