PTV question/prior bent intake rods
It had 3 intake pushrods bent, with finger nail clipping size knicks in the pistons.
Rotating assembly looks good. Everything is tight, good seal on the rings.
The plan was run a stock LQ4 with stock cam, change chromoly stock length rods, and new s and some boost. Cheap, easy fun. Probably new valves once I inspect them, I'd be surprised if they didnt bend
1. I have never encountered a bent rod(s) Odds the lifters/cam are still good? I plan on pulling the lifters/trays today and inspect them and the cam. Also inspect the timing chain to make sure it didnt jump timing.
2. If I keep stock length rods, stock cam, stock rockers with new springs and an ls9 gasket, will the clay method suffice to check the ptv? I dont think there would be a clearance issue but I wanna be safe.
Thank you
