Default Nonsense LS engine build

PRC CNC 706 heads, upgraded stock rockers, dual springs good for .650 lift
LS2 block
Custom pistons for 14:5+:1CR (running E85.) Compression will end up being a property of how much dome you can run and still clear the valves. I have to talk to a piston manufacturer down the line.
3.27" Crank
6.3" rods
Sharp sheetmetal intake (how is it I can find no information on these here? Maybe they are all junk.)
Have someone sell me a suitable cam
8-1 header, 3-1/2" single exhaust

Why a 4.8 crank? Having thrown some numbers around, seems as though this combination would allow for a 75-7700 rpm shift point. I'd need real heads to rev a larger engine to this rpm. I guess I am a ricer and just want to hear the car sing and bang some gears. The engine is for a S197 chassis. I am adding ~3-4" of suspension travel for street and off road racing duty.

I am going to run a Jerico or a modded toploader transmission. 4 speeds, faceplated, road race sliders.

Comments welcome, I cannot find anyone who has done something like this, just a bunch of fishing threads like this one.

Look for posts by Jackson. I think he did a 4” bore by 3.27” stroke combo with LS3 heads.

thanks athsma,

I will probably use this thread for my build. My last project was/is my 2008 Mustang Bullitt I bought new, now has a 1.9 TVS, what are now F150 5.0 rods inside (stock pistons, new rings,) and a pile of other crap thrown at it, no idea on power but has 12 psi of boost and some great comp cams. I put an old rotten M90 on it in 2011 IIRC, started collecting parts to beef up the bottom end right after that, got the TVS in 2013, ran that at low boost for until now - only put it together with the small pulley this past summer. Had to go through the entire car, engine, trans got fresh blockers and some custom internal work by me, truetrac diff, new knock off GT500 brakes. It's a fun car.

Not really into drag racing but since there's a track here I'm going to pick up a spare set of rear rims and get some 305/45R18 Mickey Thompsons, either of the drag radial varieties which are now called S/S or R. I'm confused by their crappy website.

There are about 30 Jackson's on here, but I'm sure I'll find the stuff shortly. Thanks KC.

LOL. I think the pro will deal with the conditions better and I only plan on driving to and from the track on nice days. Should look mean @ almost 29" tall. Bye bye shitty 8.8 axle tube welds.

What would it take to run 7700 reliably with a 3.6 or 3.9 crank? You're going to swap rods either way aren't you? Seems like it wouldnt take much at all to make your build work with a longer stroke, given that you're already planning on heads and valvetrain for that RPM.

Nothing - just bigger heads - which I don't have. I'm trying to pick most of this stuff up for close to nothing. Everyone says it's cubic dollars to wrap a small block up this high, I have lots of time but not as much budget. Some money will get spent in specific areas - trans... rearend parts. Suspension.

It is a nonsense build, after all. I'm surprised nobody has said anything about the intake.

There are so many variations of those on this forum, and very few of them of any quality. To your statement, if one can't say something nice, don't say anything...

Is this going to be like one of those cars on Furious 7 that they dropped out of the plane?
