Default Camshaft wear

Does this look normal ? Its a Tick performance stage 2 turbo cam( comp cams) with roughly 2000 kms on it , it was in a junkyard LQ4 ,the cam bearings looked ok and the engine had good oil pressure and it was in running condition when I pulled it out .

That’s unusual. I’d send a PM to Pantera EFI (Lance) and ask him to evaluate. He’s been doing this stuff for 200 years and I’d bet he’s seen this before.

Comp Cams had lots of issues with surface hardening and concave geometry. It's trash.

Replace with a new Comp grind with new lobe finishing. Or go to TSP or Cam Motion for their grinds on superior cores...

I'm throwing it in a junkyard LC9 for now and will swap it out with a better grind when my budget allows . The engine its going into is worn and has high miles, so I won't be heartbroken if wipes out the bearings or something.
