Have not put it on a dyno yet. I regret not getting a fast 90/90 so I am going to do that and then dyno tune. Dollars really added up, this activity was not pleasant lol. All of this because I never changed my LS1 lifter. I'm a dummy

Dang thats alot of money for a stockish setup. You do have quite a bit of tools/labor activities in there too though. We've heard from some of the other Aussies that import tax sucks.
Yes it does, it is a lot, part of the fun for me was doing as much as I could myself despite my inexperience and researching everything on this forum.
Some of the tools were specific to the build so I included them in my cost, if I didn't I would have to include engine assembly cost which I think would have been around 500 or more. More than the cost for my few extra tools to do it myself.
This is not all my cost, I didn't include, engine Crane and stand, tune and clutch. The car cost less than the engine, Its a very expensive hobby here, even for a basic set up.
I don't have a shed that would be another $10,000 I did it at the top of my driveway, forgot to put the handbrake on and it went through the neighbours fence, that was $5000 for insurance claim.
No I fixed the fence, It was $5000 plus to have the back of the car repaired which included a new spoiler, a rear tail light and re-spray.
The benefit for me is now I can fix fences and put an engine together .
Although it's is taking me months to assemble the engine, There is nowhere local I am aware of to buy the parts necessary on this little Island that doesn't cost twice the price or more so everything has to be ordered through the mail.
I'm doing the assembly largely because I don't know anyone I can trust with my engine and the time it takes isn't really a major factor for me.
Quote I forgot to put the handbrake on
Actually slight correction I did put handbrake on, just not enough and put m6 transmission in 4th gear the way LS1howto.com says to for changing the harmonic balancer, it did not apply enough resistance to the wheels to stop it going down our driveway.
