I would tend to agree in general. For my specific case, using the heads I chose, I'm believing my head guru that I don't need the -4 to -8 degrees of overlap I was planning on before I talked to him. We'll see. I've still got 1.5 degrees at .050" in my cam, but the lobes have faster ramps, so that should also help the cam act a bit smaller.

I have no problem trying his ideas out, he's been doing this a LONG time. I also have no problem putting in a milder cam next winter if I must.

For a weekend warrior look at the summit Pro LS stage3.

If it were anything other than a '72 Chevelle, we'd say the Stage 2 would be the best match for that converter. BUT....it IS a '72 Chevelle with a 6.0 and only driving on the weekend. That leads us to think you want something with a lot of character. We have two Stage 3's. The standard valve clearance one, and the one that gives a little extra. Of the two, we think that milling the heads .015 and going with the SUM-8710 will bring compression up a bit and give the car what it deserves.

thank you, i will check it out. I'm worried about drive ability and 2500 stall converter.
