Default VW Bug Sounding LS1?!?!

Okay, I picked up my car today from the mechanic. I was so happy to get it back, I didn't even do the normal fine tooth comb bit when I got it back, just blasted back to SD w/ some good tunes for the first time in almost a month. Well, once I calmed down a bit, I noticed that whenever I'm giving it ANY throttle, I'm hearing a VW bug engine sound. It sounds like it's comming from the left side of the car. Anybody ever hear of this before? Thanks.

Oh, and BTW.... The work I had done was a head gasket R2, and and EGR tube that was fried. Thanks again fellas.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Check to be sure that they tightened the header on after the gasket install.

You can do it yourself. Check out the gasket though. If you have a bad exhaust leak it burns the gasket up. I've burned two collector gasket from the bolts loosening up. Now I use lock washers.
