Lets talk PCV systems
The Y-block design and thus poor breathing in the small crankcase could simply use any help we can provide.
Especially for stock to stock with camshaft/ valvetrain upgrade engines.
I have seen so many stock engines daily driven in trucks with most of the oil in the top of the engine... and after 5,000 to 10,000 miles of driving that way without adding or changing oil... lovely lovely things start to occur.
"What do you mean, there is no oil in the oil pan?" "I just changed that oil 8,000 miles ago!" "What a piece of **** my GM vehicle is!" LMAO! I was so tired of hearing GM customers saying that crap while I was working in engineering.
I wanted to scream at those people! Why can't you just marvel at the technological advancements since the GEN1 SBC and check your oil level once a month!!! GRRRRR!!!
Why bother having all the engine oil accumulate in places that it need not be? ...Such as when the factory intake manifolds accumulate half a quart or more engine oil inside... The oil needs to be in the wet sump as much as it can be... Or go to a dry sump system with 15 quarts of oil and not worry about it till oil change time. LMAO! People manage to destroy those engine too by not servicing them and wanting a new free engine!
Even the most basic catch can that has to be drain out into a container would be better than nothing under the conditions stated.
Sorry guys... I had to RANT.
