5.3 dropped a valve *Re-Build Time*
This is the plan so far, but subject to change.
Bore the block to 3.898"
New Malhe Forged pistons 4cc valve reliefs
Replace the 3 damaged scat rods
Texas Speed 227cc CNC heads
Texas speed magic stick 3 cam
Full roller rockers
I'll put updates here over the next few months as I make progress on it. I've ordered the pistons and rods. Next will be to get the block and rotating assembly to my machine shop for all the mill work.

You could bore the 6.0 to 4.065 and do some drop in LS3 pistons also...

Anyway, the above advice is good. I wouldn't spend alot on a 5.3. Do the bigger motor.
There are some sharps edges left over from the machining process on the block. It did come with cam bearings though.
