i'd never beat a damn balancer on after i did it when i was a kid. The crank shaft broke shortly after.

Use the correct tools. Dont have the correct tool? Go buy or rent from the auto parts store the correct tools. Dont have money for that? You dont need to be messing with your car.

I ground the flange off a used stock bolt so it screw in past the balancer. Then i drilled a small indention in the center of the bolt. thats to locate the pointed cone on my puller. that eliminates these issues. ive used this on multiple cama swaps and loaned it out several times.

Don’t cheap out. Under $20 at summit for an install tool.

This is how I do mine but you better get it on quick or you'll be going to get the puller to start over.
