Default Valve stem seals

I am installing new valve spring seals from summit in my lq4 heads they do not seat all the way down no matter how hard I pry on them. Are these seated correctly

They don't go all the way down. It does look like you've damaged them a bit during install though so make sure you don't tear the rubber seals.

In the pictures those don't look well seated to me. There's a valve seal installation tool that really helps with install. Some folks use a socket and hammer.

I'm a fan of the blue Viton valve seals. These need the tool to correctly seat. Here's a typical one they are like ~ $20 typical BTR or Amazon etc. The BTR one may allow more leverage.

The typical valve stem seal doesn't hold up as well as the Viton seals in my experience. Some of the junk seals will side on and off with your fingers. Those seem to start allow oil consumption soon.

I've never pried seals on. An appropriate tool with some light taps from a deadblow seats them fully. Yours most definitely are not seated all the way, you'll know when they're on all the way.

Those seals will correctly bottom when the valve springs are installed. I never push on more that by hand and let the valve springs do the remainder of the work. Minimizes any damage to the seal itself.

After sacrificing one seal, the seals are fully seated any further they get destroyed. Not questioning you but how does the springs help they don’t contact these seals at all. are separate from the spring seats

The valve seals you posted photos look like the one piece seal/seat. After closer inspection of the photos on my part, it appears to be the earlier design of the separate seal and valve spring seat so the springs won't hold the seals in place.

That being the case, if these are GM seals, GM provides a measurement in the service manual to ensure the seals are correctly seated. This should avoid excessive tapping into place. I have also found that you can tell by sound when they are seated, they will have a more "solid" sound once bottomed.
