Ordering cam today, do I need a double roller timing set?
Too tight will increase your front cam bearing wear and put unnecessary downforce on the cam, limiting the oiling to the six oclock position on the bearing.
Unless you have a 750rwhp monster, it's overkill. But this is MO from my experiences.
As far as replacing the chain, I figured the double was a nice piece. It's not too loose or too tight, it has some slack. The spacers are no big deal, just be careful on how the drivers side spacer goes in. Big kicker is that it only costs $91. I would never replace just the chain, it's wise to always replace the gears when you put in a new chain.
Thanks,
Glenn
