I vote the V4. A hair more lift helps. Otherwise a wash....

Complete waste of time that cam is fine. Just build the 408 and leave current engine alone, way more performance can be gained from dropping weight, weight transfer and maximizing your 60' potential.

Oh Also you could get a fast and ported 243s which you could use on the 408 and the current engine. Should be good for quite a bit of power and you'll need them anyways.

I think square ports might be better on a 408

After speaking with a few vendors, I decided to go with Tick's sns stage 2 cam. I think I'm gonna get my ls6 heads ported and get a nice fast intake TB combo.

I am running the similar sized BTR stage 2 in my 346. That is a perfect size for a 346. I'd think that cam would be too small on a 408. I think the SNS stage 3 would be a better choice.

When I build the 408 (if in the future that's still what I want) I'm definitely going to be running a bigger cam. If I had plans to build a 408 6 months from now, then I would definitely go bigger, but it won't be for a good long while.

Update:
So after speaking with a few vendors I decided to go with the ls2 sns stage 2 cam (231/235 .625/.605 111+2) and man this cam sounds good! I got it dyno tuned and the gains were not exactly what I was expecting. When I was speaking with one of the Tick reps, I was told it would make a large amount more over the old cam. Well, I got my dyno results and I only managed to pick up 1whp and 8wtq at peak however, the tq does come in sooner and harder. I was definitely hoping for more but I'm still happy with the cam. I spoke with my tuner and he said the intake was restricting the gains and said I should pick up a lot more with a 102/102 setup. all in all I don't regret the cam swap, was just hoping for a but more.

Any info on the tune? Afr, timing, graph overlay, etc? Those number still seem weak unless this is a stalled auto through a 9 inch or something.

Not to sure about the tune, I do know it's running around 25 degrees of timing at WOT. The stock 26lb injectors are running at 96% so I'll probably need to swap those out when I go to a 102/102. Also it's a m6 with the stock 10 bolt.

Here's the old (left) and new (right) graphs side by side. They started the pull on the old one at 3800rpm and 3100rpm for the new one.

So you lost torque everywhere below 4200 for a 1hp gain?

Not sure if you're reading the right graph, I gained more torque almost everywhere with the new cam, especially below 4200.

Looks like both cams peaked the same. Numbers just seem about 30 or 40hp low for a 10 bolt stick car, but maybe it's just the mustang Dyno.
