Default E85 H/C 150 shot

Hello,

I have a Heads/Cam 150 shot Car.

I am thinking to swapping to E85. Car is not a DD. Just trying to squeeze a 30-40 rwhp more. I have a racetronix 255 lph pump and I am wondering how can I know if the Fuel Pump is enough for a 150 shot on E85? Like is there any kind of Math Calculation I can do? Or how can I see? Put the 100 shot jets and see if it leans out?

Thanks,
Gus

Good morning it will take another 30ish% more fuel on e85, so I agree if you wish to go that route you will be looking for injectors if you have not upgraded them, and a fuel pump. Let us know if there is anything we can help with.

Not worth it imo on a average LS build. However if you still want to go that route you will need a walbro 340 and 50+lb injectors...also you will need to change the regulator.

I have 52# injectros iirc. Upgraded them like 3 years ago when I did H/C. I am currently spraying 150 through a Plate

You'll pick a few HP with E-85; especially on a hot day. But I doubt you'll get 30-40hp. That's a lot.

I barely got 20 wheel on a 13:1 compression 416ci motor. on an 9.5:1 ls1 you will probably not get anything.

Not even close...generally speaking a LS1 dynamic compression is low enough it can get all the timing it needs on 93 pump. You might gain a few HP tops but unless running FI not worth it for all the extra **** you will need to do. I tried explaining this to my buddy that bought my 4th gen. He's been chasing Gremlins with the car since converting. It does smell good and exhaust tips stay cleaner. I run it on my 6th gen but it's entirely different ballgame. The Gen 5 LT1 picks up 25-30whp na and 50-60whp FI on E85 because the dynamic compression is very high. It allows the ability to run another 5 degrees timing over 93.

Too small of a fuel pump, and never gonna happen. I picked up probably 15-20 on a 14.5:1 ls2

Question

How about a slightly different scenario...if I may piggyback off the original post.

255lph pump for N/A, (under 400rwhp)
255lph pump wired into nitrous WOT switch/LNC 2000 timing retard
60# injectors
Aeromotive return regulator
Nitrous Outlet wet plate

Presently datalogs at 40% injector duty cycle, or less, NA

As opposed to spiking the fuel tank with a 50/50 mix 93 pump/110 leaded...
would the existing combo (assuming parts themselves are "ok" for E85) be enough to run straight E-85?

Not concerned with how much N/A HP gain, if any. Main concern is nitrous assisted octane...on an occasional weekend toy/bracket racer.
