Default Ls1 Valvetrain noise

Car has prc 225 heads, 235/243|.630/.610 cam and full exhaust. Motel 5315s or 6504s I think they’re the same. 42# injectors and some other things not Pertinent to the sound. Just wondering some people can listen and tell me if this noise is normal, the ticking is audible enough to hear windows down cruising around, especially next to traffic or wall. I feel like I hear the slightest knock or tap that doesn’t quite sound like header peck or one of the clamps leaking. After about 2000 rpm the Borla drowns it all out. Oil pressure is normal. I did just do an oil change and I had some metal filings on the plug, I cut open filter and had very very small amount of glitter in the bottom of can, none in the pleats. Car has 8k miles on it since an ls7 lifted wheel broke in half and mushroomed the lifter. I optimistically believe the filings on the plug are still the bits and pieces of lifter that made it to the pan.. here is the sound clips. I’ve been listening so hard I’m starting to hear things. Thank for any input!

I dont hear anything abnormal? Sounds like every other car with longtubes and a cam, there is always a faint compression type tick with setups like this.

In the second video you can hear it best. It’s undertoned by how well my phone picks up that high pitch header ticking. Also, I ran Castrol edge 5-30 for 3k miles. Changed it with same fill up. K&N filter. Had some shavings on plug, cut open filter and found just a little bit of gold in the very bottom, none in the pleats.. I refilled with same 5-30 Castrol edge. Same filter. Ran it for maybe 100-200 miles. Changed oil and filter again except this time went back to Mobil 1 0-40 to help with this excessive heat we are in since the noise became most notable once the oil became fully heat soaked, so after about half hour of driving. I took it out for a little spin after the 0-40 oil change, didn’t hear it. It doesn’t help the exhaust is so loud but this car has an **** load of coin dropped in it so I’m pretty much paranoid about noises. It kind of reminds me of a little bit of wrist pin slop I had in an older car. Wasn’t hurting it much but super annoying. All videos were taken with new Castrol 5w-30 before I drained and filled with the Mobil 1

Did you measure pushrods for correct preload? Have you tried a stethoscope? Were the trays replaced?

sounds like its normal to me, its how the cam is ground. you hear the valves snapping open and closed. Talk to any cam guy like Pat G or Martin Smallwood for example and they will tell you its normal. The more aggressive ramp rates on a cam the more noise it will make.

Sounds to me like the typical sewing machine noise you get with an aggressive cam and lt’s.

You guys are probably right. The car is on strano springs and Konis. So one day I forgot I wasn’t in my normal car and tried to go over a speed bump...whoops smashed the passenger side header collector. It developed a crack and I just recently brazed it, the whishing tick was gone so I guess it masked some of this noise or I chalked the noise Up to exhaust leaks. And yes I measured pushrods. I think length was 7.500. That’s about .07 of preload on some of the morel lifters. Some of them were 12.75 turns to lash and others were 13 turns on the checker. Oh well, for me I would’ve just kept running it till it let go anyway. Been eyeing some shortblocks from Thompson.
