I just received my Patriot Gold double valve spring kit and I noticed that when installing the hardened seats that their inside diameter is about 0.561" to 0.562" whereas the valve guide outside diameter is only 0.500" creating about 0.061"-0.062" slop for the valve springs to "float" on the hardened seats under the valve seals. Is this what you have experienced installing this spring kit? Should this be a bit tighter? I'd really like to slap my heads on tonight but I need to know this before I go any further, thanks!

yea dude, call tsp, mine werent extemely loose, but i dont know the numbers off hand as i didnt measure, but i ordered from tsp

 

I have a set of crane duals and patriot duals still in the box that I can measure the seats on.. but I'll have to get my digital calipers from work in the morning before I can do it. I'll post up then.

 

Thanks for trying guys. I PM'd Terry at Patriot and he responded right away by saying that they were a little looser fit due to the fact that Patriot heads use a slightly larger bronze guide but to go ahead and use them and not to be concerned so needless to say my new heads are slapped on the car and torqued to spec :>)
