thanks. Ima see how it does with a bigger stall. Leave that cam. Don’t like it, I’ll swap it.

you joking but I did consider that a few times. Just can’t deal with how crappy a 6 sounds. But yea, that would be neat.

I’ll tell you guys this. I’m thinking maybe the 5.7 is a gas hog. I had a 99 Silverado extra cab 5.3 with a Texas speed 212/218 high lift and that heavy thing got 19-20mpg. With heavy *** 20” wheels and super heavy tires. My 2019 Silverado 5.3 gets really good mileage stock. I know it’s newer tech and direct injection. But still gets amazing mileage. Maybe this 5.3 will do better. I’m just getting stir crazy because it’s not done yet.

I get about 17 mpg local with my cammed LS1. My 5.3 Silverado gets about 16-17 on the interstate.

my gto (heavier) averages 13-15 in town. 19-20 on the interstate. My Silverado averages around 18-22 in town. 24-25+ on interstate. Not broken in yet either. Haven’t had its first oil change.

I've never gotten better than 17.5 on my 09 Silverado. I've gotten 19.5 on my Ecoboost F150 on a trip.

I still think buying a C6ZR1 will go a long way towards making your inner speed junky content.

Hes already been faster on a blow up pass not sorted than a stock C6 ZR1 except the unicorns on the fastest list....and he doesn't want a stick car.

The reason why different vehicles get different mileage is weight, aero and gearing. The Silverado has bad aero, but the weight is probably equal so my guess is that it's geared better for the driving you do. What gears are you running now?

I have a hunch that your lope has more to do with the tune than the cam. My car (also 5.7L) has 9 degrees of overlap, vs -2.5 for your cam, and mine idles about the same. It might even be less lopey.

Different strokes for different folks. Not everybody wants a big 4 door either but they don't hate on others that do.

I agree even I don't want one. If they did hate on them I'd join them in hating the overweight junk that they are.

weight is equal to what? Gto is 3800lbs stock. Silverado is MOST DEFINITELY a good bit heavier.
silverado has 3.73 gears, 30” tall tires. Gto has 3.46 gears, 26” tall tires.

as I what? I’m just picky at how I like things. Something wrong with that?

what does yours idle at? Mine idles are 625rpm and I have the timing correction set to give less lope. Not that I have a problem with lope at all. I like the way it sounds, it’s just I can’t get a lower idle like I want to use less fuel.

my preference is an auto. And if it’s such a fail, why are the new ones coming with an auto now? Stupid gm, they didn’t get your memo. Lol.

I have three kids and I usually have more than me in the car except when going to work. As much as I’d like a vette, it’s just not practical for me at this point. Gotta make due with my heavy turd.

All kidding aside, ever think of going G8 or SS? You could do to that what you've done to the GTO. And your kids wouldn't have to wait for the seat to go forward.
