Default Torque settings

I'm building a '99 4.3 Vortec for my truck, and got stuck torquing down the main bearings.

The manual says the setting is 15 foot pounds + 75 degrees, but I cant really turn the wrench past about 30 degrees before im around 90 foot pounds, and the crank wont spin if it's more than around 15.

It is the same story for all the lower end bolts I've seen.

Am i missing something?

The bearing clearance is too tight. Or the main caps are in the wrong place.
Are you putting all of the main caps back where they originally were?

Sounds like the main caps are crossed up! Easy to do (ask me how I know) the numbers are on one side except the end cap no 5 I think get a picture and make sure they are right. I use ARP bolts ,not studs and torque them to spec. I hate TTY bolts....

I don't believe user WRA is real. He pointed me towards "someone" who was selling an item I listed in wanted-to-buy, and I got scammed.
My guess is they posted 1 time to make a user name/login and now are fishing for people to scam.

Fake accounts seem to be becoming a regular thing lately. Got a PM this morning directing me to a camgirl website.
