I have a chance to buy this motor transmission combo or just motor. 2700 for both 2400 for just motor. It's a lq9 6.0 4.00 stroke 6.125 rods coated king bearings 11:1 dome pistons ms4 cam shaft Trunnion upgraded rockers fabricated intake 102 mm tb 60lb injectors. The tranny is th400 with 3800-4000 stall converter plus flex plate. Would this be a good deal an good motor . Guy say 600hp. I have tryed to down load images up here but it says waiting on approval . Any help or opinions would be alsome.

Not sure I just know what is in that picture so far.
I could by other parts. Just not sure if it is worth it or if I should do my own build.

I'd make the seller pull the pan and valve covers off.
Where did the 600hp number come from?
Has it been run before? for how long?
11:1 isn't novice friendly with boost.

Yeah if he pulls pan I know I'm looking for burnt oil an dirty. What do I look for on the heads? An 600hp is what he said. I'm think he dogged it with nitrous maybe. But as far as the roller? Maybe I will buy an just build a motor to my liking. An really I'm thinking of just hold money an save to I can drop 10000 on a running car an build from ther.

No, You're not looking for burnt dirty oil. Burnt, dirty oil can be removed for the sale, last thing on my mind. I'd be looking for aftermarket rods and crank, plus you can see the cam from underneath to at least see what condition it's in.

And the valve covers being off, see if it actually has the trunion upgrade. I'd look at what I'm paying for to see if it's actually there.

People sell stock LQ9's for that price.

Check out pricing on a 4" stroke rotating assembly. Seems like a great deal if that's what's in there and it is truly ready to rock.
I would want to see the bottom end to confirm what crank and rods are in it.

Now who's gonna go to the trouble of opening an engine up so you can see for yourself what's in it. And even if they did do you know what to look for in order to insure that your not getting some stock bottom end?
Agree with Jays_ SSZ28., 11:1 isn't exactly boost friendly but then again with a good tune and the right fuel..

I wouldn't call that a good engine for boost. 11:1 compression is pretty high for boost with pump gas and that MS4 camshaft won't be doing you any favors either. Probably better suited for nitrous.

A stock LQ9 would be better for boost.
