Default Lq4 piston options

Bought a lq4 with 799 heads and unknown cam and other valvetrain upgrades. Was gonna just put new headgaskets on and call it a day but decided to look into it and discovered a cracked ringland. What’s my best option without having to change valve clearance and using stock rods and stock 4’ bore.. also is there a way to add a little compression like ls2 pistons or something? Any advice helps this is my first motor build

Use stock LQ9 pistons/rings. They are the main difference between the LQ4 and LQ9.
You will go from a 6.7cc dish to a flat top, and from 9.4:1 compression to 10:1.

SUM-3269454000-2 Pro LS forged is one option if you're considering a power adder in the future. No more broken ring lands!
