Default Hole or Plug?

Hello, last month I brought my block to the machine shop to have it boiled and bored and did not pay attention to the rear of the motor. The shop removed certain plugs etc when they boiled it. I have since assembled it and one thing has me second guessing....

Behind the rear cover is a hole through the block that you can see all the way through to the reluctor wheel? It seemed odd to me but I couldnt find anything info on it and any picture I could find seems that there is no plug to block it off. I dont have a picture of my motor with the cover off unfortunately but I found this picture online.

Please let me know if it should be plugged or if it does indeed leave a passage to into the motor?

This is the hole

Thank you,

You don't have to worry about that. It is drilled through at the factory for bay to bay breathing. You don't need to plug it or anything.
