Default L33?

I bought a aluminum 5.3 that has been took apart.Trying to see if I got the crank that goes with the block. The block has the knock sensors in the side not the top valley, and the timing cover has a sensor in it to.Looks like the crank sensor still goes behind starter and cam sensor in top valley. It has dimple rods, floating pins, and flat tops.It came with a 24 tooth crank. Is there a way to tell if it’s the right crank or if I need a 58 tooth? It also came with 799 heads. Thanks for any help

If it has side knock sensors, it is not an L33, unless someone moved them and the original bosses are in the valley.

If it has a 24x crank and the DOD towers in the valley, it IS an LH6

Sorry to tell you don't have a L33 it was a gen 3 and 24x with knock sensor in the valley not the side . If it's aluminum block it's most likely a LH6 or LC9 or LH8 if you know what year and vehicle it came from it would help .

In your photo, there is no cam sensor hole in the back. That’s a true gen 4 block, hence the cam sensor in the front cover.

So is your 6.0 24X? Knock sensors in the valley?

The Holley will accommodate either. Or a combination.

It depends on what your engine controller requires.
24x with a 2x timing gear. Or 58x with 4x timing gear.

You can mix and match with an aftermarket ECU.

Holley does require "custom" ignition settings for 58/2x or 24/4x instead of the default drop downs but its easy to setup. You will also have to change 5v vs 12v for the 58 vs 24x sensors but again easy to run a couple wires. I've swapped back and forth on my setups for whatever engine/crank/cam setup is available with Holley and it runs great either way.

Good to know.it was a little confusing cause I bought it done apart, but he said it was the crank that came in the motor.Didnt want to build it then have to change my harness to use it.Also it has 799 heads but I got a set of 317 with it and other iron 5.3,should I use the 799 heads or 317 heads? On my 6.0 I have 317 heads and twin 62mm Pte turbos

Personally I would use the 799.
