Default 06 ls2 with 821 ls3 heads steam port

Hey All,

My ls2 heads and block have a steam vent on the front of the heads. I'm installing 821 heads and see that the steam vent is blocked in the front but are drilled out in the back of the heads where my Ls2 block doesnt have coolant jackets. Do you guys have advice what to do here? Does a guy drill out the rivets in the front of the 821s and use the stock ls2 setup? Keep them both blocked? Thanks.

flip the heads around so the vent holes are at the front of the engine....they are interchangeable to each side...if you need to use all 4 then you drill the rivets out

Ok thanks. I totally see that now. So I guess the head gaskets are the same? You just flip the one? The head gaskets I order from TSP are the same part#. I just want to be 100% certain before I lock these down.

Head gaskets should clearly say 'front' on the front of them. I'd line that up and then verify the passages you need.
