Oddball Bore and Stroke combo recommendation
Hey guys,
So I dropped off an LM7 block with a local builder a while back and my number is finally up. Ideally I wanted to bore it out and stroke it to a 383 but the block’s walls don’t look like they’ll take it much past 40 overbore.
TLDR, the builder is trying to recommend that I use the 4.00” stroke but only bore the block 30 over. That seems a little wonky to me, considering not many people (or Chevrolet performance) run a 3.830 bore 4.000 stroke.
Is this actually a good recommendation or should I just spend a little more money and go pick up a new 6.0 block from Chevrolet and be done with it?

We're doing a project with Matt Happel at Sloppy Mechanics that is very similar. Boosted 363 Cube deal with .005 overs with a L33 block. To go .030 over (365 Cid.) with a 4" crank and maintain higher compression, you may want to look at a SUM-R24408105 rotating kit. We have a lower compression version as well for boost.

I think you will spend more money vs just getting a 6.0

Cole, you ever considered going with a 3.900 stroke?
