i just bought a 2001 SS. it has headers, corsa exaust, stainless y- pipe, subframes, panhard rod, the works. heres the problems: sometimes the oil pressure gauge wont work until after i take off. 2) im getting a weird clattering under the hood. im thinking its the aftermarket cam but why would it make that noise? it almost sounds like knocking. It sounds like you bought a blown engine, based on the oil pressure and knocking noise.

Pull the dipstick right after the engine has been running, and see if the oil has shiny particles in it.
