Anyone notice this statement? I would say thats a huge mistake. Agree?

Silicon is rock, but silicone is a sealant maybe not good for that app.

I'm not afraid of accessory parts its the internal parts I'm paranoid about. I'd probably re-use the sprocket and replace the timing chain with something like an LS2 or C5R from Katech, I'd replace the cam retainer plate, the cover gasket and ARP cam sprocket bolts are cheap and I'd feel better about things not coming apart so why not. Don't forget to use red thread locker on this stuff and its 18 ft lbs on the retainer bolts, 26 ft lbs on the stock cam sprocket bolts or 28 ft lbs on the ARP bolts.

The first cam swap I did I reused it, I didnt even know it had a seal on the back. Had low oil pressure, thankfully the engine was running on the stand and I was checking it over before putting it in the car.
Found the plate leaking like crazy lol.
Now I ALWAYS get a new plate, the little rubber molded gasket on the back gets compressed over time and will not reseal. Atleast every time Ive pulled them apart since then for me anyways.

Keep us posted. You're going to love that cam when you get everything worked out.

I'm looking forward to seeing your results once you get everything worked out. The Ghost cam is on my short list of options for my Corvette setup.

Too many dead end threads!

One downside to this forum is that people will come onto the forum to post a question seeking help and members on here will offer suggestions and possible solutions but the OP will not replay back with what it was or how they fixed the problem to give the thread closure.

Looks like another thread without the answer. Would be nice to know what caused the oil pressure issue.

I bet he knocked a cam bearing out when he was installing the cam. I had a spun cam bearing in my 5.3L truck and it ran great I didn't know why it only had 5 PSI hot pressure at idle until I took it apart I drove it that way for probably 20,000 mi and it would have lasted way longer If I had just kept believing in it, The rest of the cam and valve train was fine when I broke it down to rebuild it, The only issue the engine had other than that was the typical old 5.3 piston slap after more than 300,000 mi and probably tens of thousands of collective hours spent idling in the McDonald's drive-thru. This is why I can't stop messing with these stupid things, it's because they still work even when they are broken, He's probably still driving it around with the low *** pressure haha

There's another thread on here where a guy said he wasn't getting any fuel pressure on the gauge he installed on the factory fuel rail. I asked if he removed the schrader valve from the fuel rail and he never replied back but we all know what happened..LOL

To his credit it was an LS powered Mustang so he wasn't a complete idiot.
