Default Anybody Use TSP Torquer Camshaft

its a 233/233 with a lift of .589/.589 and 112+2 LSA. i wonder if anybodyon this bored has used it, or heard any good/bad things about it. i am looking for a cam that makes good low end torque and has good HP and Torque numbers. TSP says this is most likely the cam that fits what i am looking for.

HMM never seen that grind. Looks like it will clear on P/V. Buy it and try it. Wost case you have to swap to a new cam and sell that one.

I used tried out and initial version of it for TSP. It was a 233/233, but with a .60x lift. It worked pretty good, but they made some changes to the lobes after my testing before selling them.. the one that is being sold as the Torquer cam has the newer lobe design. I think it would be a very good cam.

The 233/233 looks like a kick *** cam.
If it was available when I was looking, I might have opted for it. The 231/237 has turned out to be rather peaky on my setup- still a great cam, but definately top heavy.

yea TSP had told me they had made some changes to the cam and the one they are selling now is the final decision. they plan to install it on an LS1 Trans AM i believe in alittle bit. can't wait to see the dyno numbers they pull out.

With 233 degrees of duration, we're not talking about stump-pulling torque down low, are we?

With my old 230/230 112LSA cam I was up on torque over the old B1 and my old 226/234 on 112LSA everywhere throughout the pull. Also up 18RWHP compared to those as well

That's awesome, Chris.

Do you remember what RPM the pull started at?

I'm looking for a healthy cam for my heavy 6.0 sled below. I know I should probably stick with low durations, but I hear how some of these bigger cams don't give up much down low.

TSP said that since i wanted some mean low end torque this is the cam for me. i am still looking for cams but if ihad to pick right now this cam would most likely fall into my car.

Gomer,
How would you compare this cam to the Futral FM13 or the TSP 231/237?

The cam I tested and the one that they have decided to sell is completely different. I have no experience with the new grind. I think it would be a great cam, it would probably make more low and midrange than the 231/237. .more along the lines of the FM13.

How would you expect the peak numbers to compare?

Does anyone know how the peak numbers compare to a TSP 231/237 or Futral FM13?

Same info here from TSP regarding the 233/233 Torquer Cam and we have put together a package that will be going in my 30th Ann. TA very shortly. Never thought I would get to this point - but I am getting pretty anxious! Ha!

well hey 1999Daytona when you finish up with your install and you finally dyno. it please spill out everything you think about the cam. don't want to get something that is better used as a paper-weight. can't wait to see what numbers this pull sout especially the torque numbers.

No problem 2000Hawk. I am actually going to make the trip up there to let TSP take care of everything and dyno tune it as well so that I know it is set up properly. I have just about every possible bolt-on including QTP SS LT's with their catted Y-pipe through a Dynomax bullet and a SLP LS6 intake to retain EGR and ported TB and ASP underdrive pulleys and on and on. Car was dialed in nicely prior to the LT's, Y-pipe and SLP LS6 intake and pulled 340 and 340 with only a cutout on the exhaust. So I am hoping to possibly reach 410 rwhp - but I actually hope it doesn't go much higher as I don't want to have to step up to a 12 bolt. Ha! I should get this all put together in about 3 or 4 weeks as I have to set aside a week to go up there, get it done, and get back home here SW of Houston. I am a little nervous about the whole ordeal as I planned to keep the car 'stock internal' - but I am starting to get more anxious than nervous!

Any opinions on what this cam would do with a set of AFR's? (205's)
