Look what I found!
(previous thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/190046-what-could-wrong.html)
It turns out that I had two broken valve springs
(Crane duals).the inside spring was broken on each one. They only had @ 10k miles on them.
I put a pic on my webshots page under "broken springs" if you care to see them.

That's weird. I don't recall anyone breaking these things.

Are the inner springs designed to be the "fuseable link"?
I guess that's the way they designed them?
When you first pulled the covers and stated the springs were not broke, was it because you hadn't taken off the locks and retainers?
In other words how did you finally figure it out?

I finally figured it out because I was changing out the vavle springs to the Patriot gold's because I had heard they had more seat pressure than the Crane's and I had already had some valve float on the dyno @6300rpm's with the Crane's. So I didn't find out they were broken until I pulled the locks out of them and removed them. Hopefully the Patriots will work well with the new cam that's going in also
