Default Cam plate retainer and tfs adapter

Ok. I’m installing my cam got the retainer plate and the trick flow damper plate. Instead of using the supplied bolts can I use my factory hex heads? They are same length.

Why would you not wanna use the supplied bolts? For the retainer plate or the chain damper?
The newer style retainer plates use a different style bolt head.

I used the button head allen bolts that came with the TFS damper plate, it was strange, neither metric or standard allen keys fit well and I ended up rounding it out when I torqued it down. I would definitely go with hex bolts next time if there is enough clearance.

Here's why... I had to drill 3 out of the four bolts out of the block

It's funny, reading that post. I was so happy I didn't have to pull the block, and I ended up pulling the block anyway.

I just got a new cam plate also that came with the torx bolts. I have my oem bolts, should i just reuse the oe bolts and torque to spec.I dont want to run into an issue where I need to try to extract another bolt for the block.
