Default Lq9

In my quest for the final engine for my 55 chevy hot rod project, I found an LQ9 for 1200. 100000 miles and running fine. Is this a decent buy?

In my area that's about what they go for.

Depends where you live. For most, that's a good or great buy. They'll be others that'll chime in they somehow find them for less. Around here, with that mileage if it's complete with wireharness and PCM that's a great buy.

I am deciding between the LQ9 that's $1200 or there's an L33 for under a grand at a junkyard with a 90 day warranty.

LQ9- larger cubes and more power

L33- Has the better rods and floating pistons and still 24X reluctor for my already modded ecm and engine wiring.

I just will be adding a small cam for a bit of the lope and gain some power for my 55 Chevy hot rod project.

Lq9 will have the same rods and will also be 24x

buy both there all getting harder to find

L33 is aluminum also so will be about 100lb lighter

I will be looking for a L33 as soon as I sell my aluminum 6.0 and im only about 4 hours away from you lol

Yes, all LQ9 have flat top full floating pistons and beefier rods.
