PUTTING THIS THREAD TO REST: FIGURED OUT MY ISSUE. I did some digging and found some guys were weary about buying aftermarket heads cast from Liberty Castings, they do Frankenstein M311 and MAST Black Label. Thought nothing of it initially. Well, the main water jacket that goes directly to the water pump was COMPLETELY plugged, both sides and around the pass-through for the head bolt. Absolute garbage casting job. Can't see too well in the photos, but BOTH SIDES are completely plugged with casting flash with the exception of maybe a pencil lead size hole (lots of resistance when I blew thru the hole). Could try and open them up with a dremel but one side is inaccessible and I don't trust them at this point, I have better self esteem and better things to do than to try and work them to no avail and have to disassemble again. Also, what's to say the rest of the inside of the cylinder head doesn't look like the same way? THANK YOU TO ALL RESPONSES!!!!
Ported area was done by me to open it up to gasket opening size, as-cast opening was WAY smaller than the LS1 heads I had sitting around.
I've been following this thread for some time just for something to read... that is unbelievable...wow
Does Frankenstein use Liberty Castings for their raw heads?
That may be the case and is also what I was wondering. But also wondering if that is the case and these heads were bought direct from liberty and are being called frankenstein because they "are the same"
OP that sucks, and we (Frankenstein) do NOT use Liberty Castings nor does MAST. We do in fact get our M311 casting same place as MAST. My advise is call the shop or DM me a serial Number that we put on EVERY casting before shipping out. I have not seen anything like that before.
I will add, we get raw blobs of aluminum and we cube them in-house, we wrote the program and there is now way for our machine to skip what we commanded to do. We have total control of that. Anyone local to us can come on by and check the place out and see our quality control on every casting we offer including OEM castings
If that indeed is our castings please let me know.

OP, what's the real story on the heads? What brand are they? Edit: I'm assuming...They aren't actually FED...?

If our logo is on them and has a serial number please message me or heck post it on here. Our product, we'll make it right.
Thats as good as it gets guys. A Shop willing to step up and stand behind their stuff. Assuming this is actually an FED product...hopefully OP posts up.
I have a sneaking suspish that they are not Frankenstein heads and that they are off the hook here.
In the post where the true issue is brought to light, an ASSUMPTION was made that Mast and Frankenstein used Liberty castings, which JR discounted.
It will be interesting to see who actually did the machining, and to figure out whether it was sloppy casting or negligent machining in failing to open the cooling passages properly.

IIRC, it was Smokey who first mentioned that on here. Or maybe, he was simply mentioning the cheap 11-degree castings, and the premium 11-degree castings got lumped in via internet gibberish on accident?
Either way, It's good to at least get the information correct, regardless of the issues in this thread.
