Valve size, esp the intake I think determines this.
GM used 243/799 on 4.8/5.3 but the valves are smaller.
Chamber width on 243/799 btw is 3.9”......
You would do well to round up some GM heads, have a nice valve job done and be set!
Or, you could bore the 5.3 to LS1 size
Ah.. Maybe its the chamber width. I have some 862s sitting, but also have some 799s I may just use. When you look at all the money involved, its almost cheaper getting the AFRs.




Thats what I would do with a 5.3. My friend 64Post on here did that with some
ported 243s and the Cam Motion Titan 4 227/232 113+3 in a Fox mustang with
turbo 350.2800 stall and 3.55s Killer street/strip combo with Excellent daily driver
manners, the AFR 210s would be EVEN better.
