Push rod Length pulling my hair out!!
You know on Gen III stuff I'm used to seeing the tops of the valves to be the same height on cylinder heads. The rocker arms set on pedestal rail and sometimes people install the rail incorrectly on the cylinder head. so FYI the GM logo should be upside down on the 1,3,5,7 side. Not sure what to make of the .070 height as I feel that's going to be an issue and I'd try and get a set of valves with equal stem heights.
I measured some pushrods i knew the size of. Then i subtracted from the actual measurement with the calipers. It wasn't much but the all varied slightly. But i would still call who ever you are buying the pushrods from and let them know your measurements since you are using short travel lifters.

One suggestion for those doing this, Get yourself 3 old lifters, Disassemble, Take the washers from 2 of them and put in the 3rd with the cup, Use a vice and something to push down on spring in lifter. Install snap ring. You now have a "solid" hydraulic lifter to measure with. You will have about .002 or less of lash in it.
Make sure you do not mix it up with your good lifters.
EDIT: Also, alot may have to do with cutting of the seats. If heads were reconditioned, Some rocket surgeon didn't get seats cut equally.
