The TEA guys ROCK!!

Anyways, we were running fat after 4800, using stock mufflers, and zero dyno tricks on ET Streets. Estimate 465+ rwhp in "dyno mode" with more tuning.

Not as much power as I need tomorrow, but not too shabby either. Will post ET tomorrow.
I hope it doesn't rain, I am sure you can squeeze out some more ponies. 450rwhp is not bad with 4.10 gear, think if you had 3.42's, you would be around 470rwhp. Remember the taller gear makes the hp seem (read) lower.

Those are BADASS numbers IMO.

Gears are costing him around 10rwhp.

If you add a 90mm intake and TB to that setup like many of the top heads/cam packages, you are already at 470rwhp with gears and a very small cam.

Hats off to AFR.

Your numbers are very good but seem to contradict what Tony at AFR suggested in his post on selecting the proper AFR head for a given application. The smaller port 205s were supposed to be the killer street head for low and midrange torque with the 225s being for the high spinning big cam combos. Your sig shows a mild cam (224/228) and yet you're having peak torque at 5000 and peak hp at 6600.

What is the LSA and I/C on your cam?

What gains did you see between 3000 - 4000 rpm?

Any chance of a graph? I'd like to see how the torque comes on.

Also, what were your previous numbers? I didn't see them in this post but I might have missed them.

Well, we were the second quickest out 100 cars, and only got hammered by a 427ci C5R car pushing 550++ rwhp.

The humidity, track, and heat worked against us, and it only took 11.6@123 w/1.8 60' to be the quickest 346ci car at the event.

We are on the road, so it's hard to post dynos. We WILL make more power after more tuning. The car pulls strong all the way down the track.

Most guys were running 3-4 mph down on their bests, so I think we can get the car into the 127's without much gynamastics at 3400lb. This will be a gain of 9mph, which exceeds what the dyno #'s would indicate. Even at the 123, it shows about 60-65rwhp gain.

The cam is VERY streetable. We are having an idling problem though right now. Why is the TQ peak at 5000? Maybe the KOOKS 1 7/8's are at least partially responsible, but I KNOW there is more tuning needed.

The car pulled 388rwhp prior to the HC.

I will start a new thread when I get home and tune it some more.

great numbers, McRat

those heads look promising. Can I ask why you decided to change the intake and not get the 90MM setup? Was that what AFR recommended as the combo to go with for that cam?

Thanks!

Our MPH was higher than the other HC cars by a good margin. To be honest, I did not do my best job of driving today. I was tired, watching kids, new combo, etc, kept me kinda of goofy all day. Still, it was a blast.

Yes, the FAST 78 was suggested by AFR. We need good punch at 4500-5000 and the 78mm is a better choice from what I understand for 346ci motors. I wonder what it would do with the LS6 mani though.

I have BBK 80mm and I'm waiting for some results on their SSI Alum intake which is reported to be 15% more flow than an LS6 intake and fully machinable for porting and port matching.
Also has O-ring gaskets like LS1/LS6

IMO from the looks of it could be an alternative to FAST intakes and much less pricey

Are those heads out of the box except milling them? When are you heading back to LACR?

They are "as-delivered" from AFR. You specify the milling when you order them.

I just blew the rear outta the car. Until I get a rear, the Meanie will be "resting" for awhile.
