What size engine? What's it going in? Intended usage? The more details you provide the better

it痴 a 2002 Camaro ss, m6, stock ls1. Planning on getting a 224 /228 cam and upgrade valve train. Already got the full exhaust just waiting on it. Want some power for your occasional drag strip.

Order the camshaft and heads together and go with TSP’s recommendation. Give them honest answers to their questions and you’ll be very happy with the outcome. They will know best what camshaft works with their heads.

I don't have any experience with the 220s, but I put the 225s on my SBE LS1 this summer and the car rips now.

+1 for calling tsp and ordering together they will ask you all the question to give you a setup that is going to be matched best for most power output but like stated above make sure you answer the question truthfully because if you say you want the most power possible they are going to give you a radical setup when really you may want some thing that has more DD potential, a question i'd like to ask though is what are you future plans with the car as far as bottom end do you ever intend to go the stroker route?

Now I hate to do this sense to seem to have you mind made up and this will throw anther option that you will have to decide on BUT have you taken a look at trickflow? that is who I am going to go threw they have a 220 as cast head that works great and going with it future proofs your car because when you're ready or if you end up wanting to go with an LS2 with more cubes down the road you can send that head out and actually have it opened up to a 4" bore and 235cc

so I called tsp, told them my intentions. Pretty much I want an extra kick nothing to insane. I asked about the 220 and the 225 heads, and they told me straight up that their 220 cast barely came out so they recommended the 225. So I placed my order, 225 heads matches with a 224/228 .600/.600 114 lsa cam. I did upgrade the rocker arms and Johnson痴 lifters. As far as my bottom end I don稚 intend on stroking it out, it痴 still stock and the car is more for me, I do intend to take it to the track for an adrenaline rush but other than that it痴 just for pure delight.

I agree you'll enjoy that setup. What size are the headers primaries and what intake/tb are you going to run? I have those PRC 225's with the TSP v4 camshaft and very happy with the power gains. Just swapped out my 1 3/4" headers for 1 7/8" along with the TBSS intake and a Nick Williams 92mm. Those two upgrades in exhaust and induction flow really helped 225's seeing their potential. Wanted to do the fast 102 but wasn't in the budget... yet.

I got the hookers mid length 1 7/8 matched with the true dual dual black heart. I just order 42 lbs injectors, intake is already an ls6, I値l get a throttle body later, this girl is getting expensive real quick.

Good choice on the heads. What rockers and springs? Im kinda surprised they didnt grind you a cam with more lift to take full advantage of the heads though.

You have the LS6 I would not bother with buying a throttle body, if I was you I would be stashing away cash to grab a fast intake its going to gain big especially sense you now have higher flowing heads and a cam, the LS6 intake is good in stock form but is now going to hold you back

You already decide where you're going to take it to get dynoed? if not now would be a good time to start calling some places and looking around so you're ready to roll when the swap is done

I went with the 225 as well. Only have about 1-2 hours run time on them. Still needs tuning but so far they feel stronger than the ported 243s I had. I think these are going to be great.
