My photography skills are worse than my porting skills lol, but I just wanted to show them done. At least my part is done. Throats were opened up to 90%, exhaust port roof was opened on all the ports and measured with a mic so they are all the same. Intake ports were finished with 80 grit, exhaust ports were finished all the way to 500 grit. Chambers are polished.

55 hours. This is not for the faint of heart, around hour 30 i was regretting this little project, especially since the snow is finally almost melted and I can get the car in the garage; now I want to get this thing put together so I can drive it!

Heads are off to the machine shop tomorrow morning for a touch up, 3 angle valve job, and milling them to .015 per Texas speed.

Thanks for the support, fun project over all and good practice for what I really want to port.

You'll get better with more practice. Just remember, surface finish is secondary to everything else going on in the port, on the intake and the exhaust side.

I was welding in a confined space at work yesterday.
no room for a fan. They gave me a air powered venturi to
keep the fumes away. Made by texas pneumatic tools
I think.
corse I had to play with it cause I never seen one.
works very well for how small it is..
think this way.. not how smooth something is etc..

Once you install the 799s report back and let us know how your car runs. When I installed the 243s that I ported my LS1 really liked the extra flow.

These are old photos, I got the heads back from the machine shop a few weeks ago... however there's been a slight change in the direction of the project. Instead of going on the LS1 I am putting these on an LQ9 I got ahold of instead, so the displacement is going to go up a little bit from 5.7 to 6.0 . That's been the delay in putting this all together. That and I also broke the trans so I am working on that simultaneously. Just figured I would post an update. I will repost again when I have some numbers or feedback. Oh, machine shop said I did a great job on the heads, they should flow very well. We went all out on the valve job as well, I spent the extra $$$
