Exclamation Timing chain tensioner bolts

Hi, does anyone know the bolt size for the timing chain tensioner on a gen 3 engine? Thanks.

8mm X 1.25mm.
I don't know the exact length, but I'd estimate 150- 200mm.

There is no tensionser on a gen 3

But a lot of bolts on an LS are 8x1.25 thread

However, if you're running an aftermarket chain damper then I don't know what they use. And if you're using the bracket style those use different bolts, the cam plate bolts and the damper to bracket bolts.

So which bolts are you asking about lol

My ls6 block came with the dampener hole threads...

Damper, not tensioner. And as far as I know, all aluminum blocks are predrilled, iron blocks are not.

To clarify, I have this engine here Chevrolet Performance 19370163 Chevrolet Performance 6.0L 364 C.I.D. 452 HP Long Block Crate Engines | Summit Racing. The chain I installed had quite a bit of slack in it so I bought this style

. The engine came with the bolt holes for it already so I ended up using 2 of the cam sprocket bolts and it works well.

I wonder if that would bolt to the Trick Flow dampener bracket for blocks that aren't pre-drilled (which is lots of AL blocks, like mine). Also wondering what you do with that paper clip thing on the end.

The paper clip thing on the end is actually a pin. So once you get the tensioner installed and the timing chain then you pull the pin because the pin keeps the spring up for installation. The spring adjusts from there to keep the chain tight all the time.

I call it the grenade pin. Cause once you pull it you better hope the timing is right. Lol but that's with hydraulic tensioners that are a pain to deal with once the pin is pulled, not so much with this setup.
