Default head / cam swap for LS1
What's the typical head / cam setup, to go with, to maximize the LS1's potential? What's the best bang for the buck?

2002 Trans Am M6
Daily Driver
Budget: $2000-/+

That’s really dependent on your budget and what you are using the car for. We need way more details to give an answer.

What are your expectations for it? How much does driveability matter to you? Do you drive in a lot of stop and go traffic? Something along the lines of a Cam Motion Titan 4 or BTR stage 2 or similar cam is generally considered to have pretty good driveability, but everyone has a different opinion, it also depends on how good your tuner is. I have a 232/234 cam and I think it drives pretty well, others might not though.

Fast 92 or 102 intake
Titan 4 cam, TSP torquer, or TSP 228/232
Trick flow as cast 220 cc heads or TSP as cast heads

Or run the above with some 243 heads if the above breaks the budget

I’m in the same. Boat I’m gettting used 243s as we speak so I would like. To keep total cost. Under 2k.....summer cruiser later on street and road course racing :;;;;

The PRC 225 as cast will let you keep the stock rockers.
The TFS heads can use stock rockers with powdered guides installed adding to the budget.

Maybe Texas Speed will have another "Pandemic Sale"

I got the PRC 225 heads and Torquer V4 for $2,272.72 shipped (with .660" springs)

In most cases people would be better off spending $2k in bolt ons than worry which budget heads and cam to throw on their ride
