LS newbie and 6.0 build
This will be a daily driver boxed 72 Blazer frame, 1-ton axles, 6.0, 4L80e, 203/205 doubler transfer case, with a 72 reg cab and a short flatbed.
I picked up a high mileage LQ4 and this will be the base of the build, hopefully, lol.
In this 6.0 I am considering whatever I can do to get as much useable torque as possible. I am open to stroking, in my world cubic inches = torque, along with a long squirt of fuel, lol.
Here is what I am thinking, stroke a 6.0 to 4", CNC port and blend 823 rectangle heads, bump the compression up as high as I can, and run pump fuel, with a cam to compliment everything. What crank are they using to stroke these?
When your chambers do not allow you the compression that you are looking for do you shave the heads, run domed pistons, or weld up the chamber and machine it to what you want?
What size throttle body would complement this engine? Def drive by cable
I'd be really happy to get as close to 500 rwhp as possible with torque pretty close.
But losing some top-end power for midrange torque is not an issue.

I don't feel the need to learn all my lessons the hard way, lol.
I just havent seen many posts or articles where guys have replaced pistons or stroked an LS. Most are taking a "take out" engine and maybe changing the cam and lifters and calling it good. Seeing that this engine will more than likely need to be bored, I am already planning on buying pistons so may as well take it to a 4" stroke at the same time to gain the cubic inches.

706 heads,
Cam around 215-220 intake duration and a tight LSA
TBSS intake (Or 07+ 4.8/5.3 intake)
get the compression around 11:1
you would have an absolute torque monster and still be making an easy 500hp
Just my opinion, you could also just keep the engine stock and do a LSA blower or a small turbo setup and make even more power

Why 706 over 823? Isn't that sacrificing intake valve size and flow?

Ive been reading good things on the summit brand forged rotating assembly's but there are others also that have been out a while.
4" seems to be the sweet spot, some go over that but you seem to start pulling the piston down pretty far in the bore. I have no first hand experience with $troker$ though.
706>823 for torque or low speed power, big valves and ports dont help low RPM torque. Did you watch the video?
The 706 will make less peak numbers than 823 but the 823's will be shifting the power curve much higher in the RPM range and sacrificing alot of torque where it counts in a TRUCK. If this was a CAR I would go with 823's
Basically the 706 made MORE power till 4,000 RPM then after 5,000 the 823 made more power.
