Default 05 envoy problems need help

I have a 2005 envoy xl 5.3 lh6 I have fixed both sides when the dod failed when It failed again I decided to do a dod delete. It's been 6 months and can't figure out what's going on there was a lifter tapping noise I could hear using a breaker bar to listen with during the break in but has since went away. probably my fault forgot to soak lifters in oil for 24hrs just put assembly lube all over it. Now six months later I hear a ticking sound and have cel for bank 2 knock sensor. That's what I can't figure out it also runs great besides if given alot of throttle from a stop it's a dog and when in drive it has a lunging forward feeling. All seals and orings have been replaced new melling pump new ac delco alternator new water pump ls6 springs ls7 lifters hardened 7.400 pushrods and a btr stage 1 truck cam very mild setup but I know I'm over looking something or forgot something.

Where is the ticking coming from? What do knock counts look like?

It sounds a lot like the rockers or pushrods. How do you check the knock count I do have a scanner would it show on that. Also I have a pushrod length checker on the way I was hoping maybe it was all related.

Need to focus on noise first. Scan tool "live data" should show knock count and timing retard due to knock. Not sure what tool you have.

What would be a decent affordable scan tool with live data?

Thanks.

Not sure what's affordable or the cheapest/best value scan tool these days. I primarily use an Autel Maxisys ($2000) for complete vehicle coverage. I have a Veepeak mini BT OBD2 adapter ($12) and car scanner android phone app that has some live data. Don't know if it has PIDs for knock sensors. I'll take a look and report back.
