Default ARP Head Studs too short

Bought ARP head studs awhile back for my 5.3 LM7 swap. Part #234-4317. Box says “SB Chevy LS1 Pro series 12pt head stud kit 20”. Instructions on the other hand say “Chevy LS Series (2004 and later) 8740”. I have confirmed my engine is Gen 3.

My problem is, the ARP’s are way too short. They don’t even stick out of the head. Will attach a pic. Did I order the wrong part? If so, what’s the correct PN? Thanks!

Yeah, you got the wrong part number. You need the earlier style head studs.

Your engine is a Gen 3. The studs you got are for Gen 4.

234-4344 is the kit you need.
