Default Camshaft selection for my C5

Hello all. I have a question regarding camshaft selection for my 2000 c5 corvette. Before i start here is the info on the car. Its a 4l60 car. Everything is stock besides a vararam intake and corsa axle back. I am in the process of buying longtubes and 3” x pipe to go back to the axle backs. Also trying to source 243 heads and a ls6 intake manifold at the moment.

On to my cam question. I have searched but much of the info i find appears to be very old or people saying to just put the biggest cam possible in it. I would like opinions on cam selection for a daily driven car. I repeat, lol, the car is daily driven so street manners is extremely important! Also would like to ise the factory stall converter and keep the shift point at 6k. At this time i am considering either an ls9 cam or the sloppy stage 1. Any other info on cam selections would be appretiated. Again. Daily driver. Street manners. Lol.

Largest Cam for a stock stall (3000 stall is Very DD Friendly BTW, and will make as much difference as everything else mentioned) I would run is the Cam Motion Titan 3 224/228 113+4 with a very good tune 11.0-11.4:1 comp depending on fuel with a tight quench (.040 gasket).
Just my .02

those do seem very interesting. Ill have to give them a call and ask some questions. However when going over the specs for their stage 3 cam the specs seem very similar to the ls9 cam. Any elaboration on this or am i off?

A little off.
LS9 cam specs- 211/230, .558/.562, 122.5 LSA
CM LS1 St. 3 - 218/224, .553 or .595, 116+3
Closer duration spread, much tighter LSA, more optional lift.

what kind of power gains can be expected with the stage 3 vs the ls9? If its similar in drivability to the ls9 but significant in power gain then i dont mind spending the extra almost $300 on it

I'm not sure I would even bother with a cam if you're only going to turn 6k. Maybe just do some 1.8 rockers or an LS6 cam, maybe both.

I know this is an older post. Have you bought, and installed the cam yet? Either way, with an A4 car, you'll gain a good chunk of ET by shifting at 6,400-6,500rpm. Why? Because there's a considerable drop in rpm when the 4L60E shifts from the 3.06 first gear to the 1.62 second gear. If second gear was 9 hundredths higher, say 1.53 instead of 1.62, you'd have a second gear twice as high as first!!! As it is, shifting at 6,000rpm will result in an rpm drop from 6,000rpm to roughly 3,200rpm, assuming the converter is locked, which it isn't, of course. So let's say that the unlocked converter will add at least another 500-600rpm. This extra 500rpm added to the 3,200 mentioned above puts the drop from 6,000rpm to roughly 3,800-3,900rpm at full throttle. I'm sure you see my point. If you can up the shift point 500rpm, to, say, 6,500rpm, the shift to second gear is now nearly 4,500 rpm. Even if these numbers aren't exact, by extending the shift point to 6,400-6,500rpm will put the engine 500rpm higher, much closer to peak torque, than the 6,000rpm shift would be able to do. I have an A4 Vert. You'll find this higher shift point WILL make a difference, for sure. If you've changed the cam, I hope you've upgraded the pushrods and valvesprings. Hope this helps.......
