Given a 15% loss I would guess/hope I am right around 500 hp to the tire. CAT if you want pm me your address and I'll send you a mag.

I saw this as well and am impressed. I wonder what this would do with a set of AFR 225 heads, Fast 90MM or LS2 intake, and maybe a larger cam? The cam did seem a bit small but that could be me. Also would this be available with the Aluminum 6.0 truck block?

Starting to think over winter projects.

There is an aluminum 6.0 truck block available? You got my attention. An aluminum 408 would be awesome!

No not yet however the LS2 is a aluminum 6.0 block, and is a 4.0 bore and 3.622 stroke I believe.
408 inches just became a little lighter, about 95 lbs infact.
They say the LS2 is lighter than the LS1 block.

I was reading somewhere that the 04 and newer truck blocks are aluminum. Was it a dream?

Well you might see what this combo does with a LSX 90mm intake and throttle body. As soon as the aluminum blocks are available we will start making them 408's! The cam could be bigger but Mike wanted to have good driving manners as well as power. This car was driven from Florida to Michigan by Mike. I think that says alot about the cam and it's drivabilty.

What would an aluminum block fast or LS2 combo cost with your heads and/or AFR 225?

Need to figure out how many pennies to save.

Thanks.

Great article. I love that video too Mike. Very nice car...
Killruss's car used to be belong to my buddy UnbelievableLS1. I installed the heads/cam, headers, clutch hydraulics and much more on that car, with a very small amount of help from UnB...heehehehe. These 402/408's area a blast on the street. I just added 4.11 gears to mine..man this thing is silly fun.

Congrats guys!

Mike, I think 15% drivetrain loss through a 12 bolt with high gears is too low. It should be closer to 16.5-17%. My guess is about 490rwhp based on 590hp at the motor.
