99 LQ4 block interchangeable with a LSX block The 427 GM performance LSX block is coming out and a 99 LQ4 block is going in.
Can I pull the flywheel from the LSX block and bolt it onto the LQ4 crank and simply swap the trans over (6 speed Transzilla)

Series LS1,2,3,6,7 have 6 bolt crank flange bolt patterns. The LSA, LSX (aftermarket), and the new LT1 & LT4 engines have 8 bolt crank flange patterns. The LS9 uses a special 9 bolt crank flange pattern. Early 4.8L & 6.0L LS engines have an extended crank flange that requires a specific flywheel. So is the crank flange an 8 bolt or 6 bolt and do they share the same thickness?
